A patch is a single file or collection of files that adds artwork, music, sounds, or other custom content to a dream.
Creating a Patch
Since there is a large variety of different types of patches, there are many different ways to create new content for your dreams.
Custom Artwork
- Using the FOX Editor, one can create new items, portraits, avatars, desctags, buttons, etc. In order to apply these to a dream, the .fox or .fsh file created must be named correctly. These files should be named for the default file they will be replacing, such as iteme.fox, or player4.fox.
Customer Interface
- Custom art can also be applied using the Skin Editor, which creates a new interface for use in dreams, or to replace the original default skin.
Custom Music
- Music can be added to dreams in the form of MIDI (.mid) files. These files should be named m#.mid where '#' would be replaced with a number. This way the midi can be played in the dream using DragonSpeak.
Custom Sounds
- Sounds can be added in the form of WAV (.wav) files. These files should be named s#.wav where '#' would be replaced with a number. This way, the sound can be played in the dream using DragonSpeak.
